Chromebooks do not support Windows, Mac or Linux apps, so you will not be able to run the full-fledged desktop version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) on Chrome OS. But don’t give up just yet, because there are a lot of good alternatives, including one from Microsoft, which is pretty similar to the app you got used to.
There are a lot of web apps or Chrome OS apps that can edit Excel files and they work just great. Aside from that, they are also able to save your files directly in the cloud, so you can access them from wherever you want, without having to keep them on a physical computer or drive.
I will present you most web and Chrome OS apps that can edit Microsoft Excel files, so you can choose the one you like the most. In my opinion the best ones are Microsoft Office Online and Google Sheets. Microsoft Excel Online seems a bit more complex and looks really similar to the desktop version of Excel, but you need a Live.com or Outlook.com account to use it. Google Sheets works with a Google account and you most likely already have one if you’re using a Chromebook.
Google Sheets
Google Sheets is probably the best replacement for Microsoft Excel on your Chromebook. It can open all Excel files and you can edit them directly in Chrome, with the files being saved in your Google Drive account.
It comes with a lot of nice features, like collaboration, which means that multiple people can edit a file at the same time.
You can install Google Sheets from the Chrome Web Store and use it from any browser. All you have is to log into your Google account.

Microsoft Excel Online is really similar to the desktop version, but it can be used just like Google Sheets, from any browser. The difference is that files are saved into a OneDrive account and you need an Outlook account to use it.

You can also install it from the Chrome Web Store if you want to give it a try. It works great on any browser and it has a lot of features, but it does lack some that you can only find on the desktop version.
